Real Wedding: Johanna and Jack

The Love Story: Jack and I met many moons ago. I believe we were 18 finishing up that last Summer before becoming freshmen in college. A mutual friend introduced us and we soon found out that we would be attending the very same university in the fall. On the very first day of school, I looked up his dorm room and called him. I thought he was cute and I knew no one on campus so a friendly face was welcome. As time wore on, we became the very best of friends while dating people on and off. Despite a massive crush I had on Jack, we never forged ahead with a relationship but remained close friends. Best friends.

Post-college, we grew apart. It was the natural ebb and flow of life. Years later, I received a text from Jack asking how I was. We hadn’t spoken in years! We met up for beers to catch up. Picking up a close friendship was not hard but what complicated things was the fact that I still had a deep admiration for him- a bond that was stronger than friendship. Unexpectedly, he admitted the same and put it all out on the table. And so our friendship became a relationship that was as natural as ever and we’ve been strong ever since. It’s very “My Best Friend’s Wedding” but with a much happier ending!

The Lovely Details: It was love at first sight – The Carneros Inn. The resturants have sophistication of a fine dining experience as well as amazing amenities for our guests…a pool overlooking rolling vineyards, a world class spa and individual cottages that couples could call their own during our wedding weekend. Our ceremony took place outside in an apple orchard within the property. Guests had a short walk after the ceremony to the intimate dining room overlooking Napa hills and vineyards. Horses grazed outside and it was a beautiful, sunny day. We only had 37 guests total which allowed us to maneuver the room with ease.
