Nature as Science Styled Shoot with Yelena Johnson

Earlier this year, a handful of Collection members put their creative powers to use and created this gorgeous spring inspired styled shoot. Event planner Yelena Johnson of The Stylish Soiree was the designer of the simply beautiful shoot. We adore the pop of the ranunculus {the handy work of Karen of Huckleberry Designs}, the delicate watercolor letterpress work of The Aerialist Press, and the perfectly selected vintage goods from One True Love Vintage Rentals {Our gal Amanda does it again!}. Beautiful photos captured by Collection Member Meg Perotti.
Yelena, what was your inspiration for this lovely spring shoot? The overarching theme for this shoot was 'Nature as Science.' We envisioned our bride as a free-spirited naturelover and intellectual, and styled her with pretty, natural makeup and a headpiece with wired butterflies adorning her tousled tresses.

For the tablescape and vignettes, I gathered inspiration from botanical and naturalist drawings, as well as watercolor paintings. To bring the 'Nature as Science' theme to life, we used quirky flowers with a lot of natural movement (including poppies, ranunculus and anemones), ferns, mushrooms and moss, vintage furniture that looked as if it might be found in a naturalist's office, and science related ephemera for styling.
