Ariella Chezar Workshop Recap
Thursday, July 12, 2012 at 5:00AM A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to peak into the Ariella Chezar workshop here in Sonoma. This three-day workshop was held at Kiristi Amoroso's gorgeous Sonoma property, Twin Palms Sonoma. Buckets fresh from the San Francisco flower market lined the patio while florists {both aspiring and professional} listened intently as the floral master shared her wisdom of all things floral.
Day 1: The workshops first day focused on flowers for the table. The 11 students learned how to create a lush compote arrangement, Ariella's signature centerpiece. The next project focused an assortment of vessels, creating playful and whimscial centerpieces within a consistent color palette. The final arrangement for the day was a large branch and floral piece- perfect for displaying in a foyer.

Day 2: The second day of the workshop was an immersion into wedding flowers. The students made two type of bridal bouquets {cascade and round}, learned ribbon techniques, hair flowers, floral crowns and boutonnieres. The afternoon lesson taught the ladies about garlands: application, design, execution and placement.

Day Three: The final day of the workshop focused on creating a tablescape. Two style boards fueled the inspiration behind the looks: romantic and modern. Together the students designed two tables complete with floral, linens, place settings and napkin details. Season, color and location and imaginary clientele aesthetic were all taken into account to create the perfect completed look.

Sponsors for this workshop included Kristi Amoroso Special Events, Collection Members Classic Party Rentals and La Tavola Fine Linens, and Crisp Bake Shop. Photos by Meg Smith.
Stay tuned for Kristi's next workshop later this summer. This time around its photography!
