What inspired you to open Fox and Brie? I started making ties for my husband & our friends a few years ago, and fell in love with menswear. I wanted to combine traditional contruction techniques with new textures & shapes, to give classic neckweare a resh look.
Who shops at Fox and Brie? What type of groom? The majority of my clients are looking for something different. Whether it's bow ties, neckties, or pocket squares, they're tired of the same old selection offered in traditional mens' stores. I offer a variety of prints & textures that just aren't available anywhere else, and I've been lucky enough to connect with people who feel the same way.
How would you describe your wares? A modern take on the Southern Gentleman. Since I use all natural fibers (cotton, linen, wool} my line has a rustic look to it, while still feeling very fresh and modern.

What is it about Austin, Texas that inspires you? Austin is just it's own unique place. It doesn't try to be different just for the sake of being different. It's a city that embraces individual idiosyncrasies and encourages its residents to be themselves. Austin is the perfect blend of live music, vibrant color, great tacos & a diverse community of friendly people.
What is your favorite print or material to work with? I love homespun cotton & a great plaid. Combine the two and I'm in heaven!
So you have a favorite neck flare style? Bow tie? Skinny? Traditional? Why? I make all of my own sewing patterns, so every style is completely unique to Fox & Brie. Though, I do have a soft spot for a great traditional bow tie.
What is your take on the DIY philosophy that has made Etsy? I love it! I'm always on the lookout for new tutorials & sources of inspiration. Etsy especially is filled with so many talented people, who share the same love for turning an idea into reality.
What inspires you and gets your design juices flowing? I've collected a large stock of vintage fabric over the years from antique stores, estate sales, even a couple of barn sales! Finding fabrics that are not only beautiful, but also completely unique, are a great inspiration. My mind immediately starts racing with ideas & possibilities.
Do you have a brick and mortar shop as well? No, but I do wholesale to a number great shops around the country.
