Mack Goes to Italy Part 2: Week 2 Round Up

My man is a true Italian- he loves feeding people. He has become known within his group of friends as somewhat of a grill master. He hosts a grill night at least once a month in Florence and everyone leaves fat and happy. It was expected that we were to have a grill night here in Campiglia while everyone was visiting. Sausage, meat, chicken, grilled veggies and of course enough red wine for the masses.
This past weekend one of Bernardo’s best friends turned 30. For his present, I shared something terribly American with Giacomo- beer pong. I packed along with me red Solo cups, a box of ping pong balls and an official beer pong rule book. Needless to say, my Italians were naturals and have been converted.

Can’t go wrong with caprese con bufala as a beach shack snack. Auntie Mame is the perfect beach read, perhaps one of my new favorite books.

Calamoresca is our latest discovery. This small cove has warm water, a pebble beach and an awesome fish restaurant along the rocks that line the water. We went there for dinner last night and it was divine.

Fresh snacks bought from the coconut man along the beach. Whenever I’m in Italy, I tend to have more courage in the kitchen. My latest creation is another bruschetta: tomatoes, pancetta and cannellini beans. If Bernardo is the grill master, I’m the bruschetta mistress.
We’ll, that’s that! I hope your August is treating you swimmingly dear readers! One week left here in Italy. Gotta soak up as much of my man and the seaside as I can.
Baci!
