Mack Goes to Italy Part 2: Week 3 Round Up

One of my favorite beaches here is Buca delle Fate {Fairies' Den}. After parking at the top of a hill, you have to hike down to the water. After about 20 minutes you arrive at Buca delle Fate- cliffs, rocks, splashing waves and clear, clear water. While soaking up some sun, we made a little friend, Luna. She hung out with us most of the day and slept in the shade of the rocks while her owner swam. And I believe that other picture to be of a pirate ship. While it is probably not a pirate pirate ship, it's fun to think so. Man oh man, is she a beauty!

Totally digging this label on our prosecco! After sharing beer pong with my Italians {they are still talking about it a week later!}, I thought burgers would be the next step. In true Italian fashion, they wanted to make homemade French fries. I did not object.

I was itching for some outdoor activities {other than the beach} so Bernardo and I decided to explore some coastal hiking trails. While on our hike we stumbled upon 11th century monastery ruins...ya know, like you do on any hike. After the monastery on top of the mountain, there was nothing but miles and miles of gorgeous coastline.

These pine trees never cease to amaze me. They remind me of something you'd see in a Dalí painting, melting watches dripping from their branches. Beach sunset, final beach cocktails and tanned legs. Happy MacK.

After packing up and getting our last hours of summer sun, we headed back to Florence. A pizza dinner with friends Tuesday night and a farewell lunch with Bernardo's parents yesterday afternoon. Bernardo's mother Stella {like most Italian mothers} is an incredible cook: homemade ragù and schiacciata con l'uva {grapes}. I stuffed myself silly then Bernardo and I took a pisolino {cat nap} together. Homecookin'= food coma = pisolino. True Italian lunching.
Well dear readers, I'm headed home today. I'm leaving my man, my second home and my non-Paleo food choices behind. I shall return without a doubt! Until then, back to Sonoma and all things weddings.
Ciao! Baci!
MacK
