Meg was "fated" to be our wedding photographer.

We had interviewed several photographers and even though many of them took beautiful pictures, it just wasn't everything I was looking for. I wanted someone who could take regular portraits, photojournalistic candid moments, beautiful "found object" photos, and inject our photos with a sense of artful whimsy. I essentially wanted 5 different photographers in one person. And I was on a budget.

A friend referred me to Meg's blog because she was doing a giveaway and thought I might liked her photos. I looked through her portfolio, loved her work and began emailing with her about the giveaway. Although the giveaway itself didn't work out for us, Meg still reached out to us and worked with us on a package that was in our price range. She connected with us in a way other photographers hadn't and to seal the deal, she had gotten married at the same church as us!

My husband and I just felt she was everything we were looking for and booked her early on in our wedding planning. Throughout the wedding planning process, we would e-mail her every now and then about her thoughts on what would work in terms of photos, makeup choices, and consulted with her on a videographer. She always responded promptly and gave us very good advice. We actually ended up finding our videographer through her and they too were great to work with (and affordable!)

In the months leading up to the wedding, I would pop into Meg's blog to see what she had been working on and would fall in love with her photos again and again. I was working on so many DIY projects for my wedding that I couldn't wait to see what kind of detail photos she would be able to catch.

We took our engagement photos with her 3 weeks before our wedding, and it was so good to finally spend some time with her one on one. We booked her for just an hour, but she was so organized and had spots picked out in advance and drove us from place to place. We got amazing photos back just days later and our friends and families were wowed by how glamorous we looked (we really don't look that good in real life!) The photos ran the gamut from romantic and classic to fun and whimsical, and included so many cute detail shots, like my shoes or us holding hands. She even brought props to take so many hilarious photos (speech bubbles, hearts, parasols, etc).

As an added bonus, Meg came to our wedding rehearsal (which is quite a distance away from her home) and not only got great shots, but put our wedding party at ease. Everyone in our family and wedding party got to meet her in advance and there was peace of mind in knowing she was scoping out the space and getting a feel for our ceremony. She was quiet, inconspicuous, but so sweet and cheerful.

On the wedding day, it was cold and raining but she trekked through the wind and mud (with her husband in tow shooting second!) to get shots outside the church. It was freezing and raining but she still found pockets of clear weather to grab a few shots and they're so beautiful - including photos of me and my bridesmaids outside with our umbrellas.

Overall, our wedding photos are just beautiful. They are everything I thought they would be. Our relatives and friends thought just the sneak peak she put together for us on her blog looked like something out of a magazine. And I am excited to share the rest of our photos with our families.

But more than that, Meg is just a great person to work with. Our guests and parents repeatedly mentioned to us at the reception how great they thought Meg was. When is the last time you ever noticed the wedding photographer, much less wanted to compliment the bride and groom about them at the wedding? She was just so gentle and sweet but worked with the energy of the wedding, instead of disrupting it in any way.

Weddings are stressful and expensive, but my husband and I feel so good about our investment in Meg's photography. We feel the quality of her work is just superb and believe she is an incredible value in an industry and geographic area that is so often marked by flashy marketing and super inflated rates. She was worth every penny we feel confident that we came out of our wedding having met our FAMILY photographer, not just our wedding photographer.

Thank you Meg!

We met with numerous photographers before meeting with Megan and following our initial consultation, knew immediately she was the photog for us. As opposed to the others, who seemed set on showing us their work without first hearing our expectations, Megan listened. She asked what we wanted from the photographs of our special day and then showed us photos she'd taken that corresponded to our desires. She talked with us, instead of at us. She made us feel like we were the wedding she'd been waiting to shoot, as opposed to just another Saturday evening she'd be spending at work. Needless to say, we're incredibly happy with the memories she captured on our special day and know that you'll be too.
